Summer Brother

Joren Molter is a film director, best known for the motion picture Summer Brother. After graduating from the Film Academy, his graduation film Greetings from Kropsdam was selected for 54 international film festivals, including Clermont-Ferrand, Busan, and Palm Springs. Greetings from Kropsdam won 13 international awards, including the Audience Award at the Warsaw International Film Festival.

Joren was the first Dutch director to be selected by European Film Promotion for Future Frames: Ten New Directors to Follow at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival. His television film Dòst was acquired by Amazon and released in 27 countries.

In 2022, Joren directed his first feature film, Summer Brother, based on the bestselling novel by Jaap Robben. His feature debut received critical acclaim and won the Dutch Critics’ Award. The film was nominated for four Golden Calves (the Dutch equivalent of the Oscars) and won the Audience Award at the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF). Additionally, Summer Brother won the top prize at the Giffoni Film Festival.

In 2025, Joren will direct his next feature film, Nuclear Boy, inspired by the life and events of David Hahn, the “Nuclear Boy Scout.”
